We’re excited to share a series of recent enhancements across Demurrage, Voyage Management, and Cost Modules—designed to streamline operations, improve collaboration, and reduce manual effort.
With smarter data entry, improved document handling, and more system integration, this release pushes Voyager even further toward being your central hub for voyage and claims management.
New AIS Data Visualization
Gain visibility into voyage progress with live AIS data, enabling accurate vessel tracking and proactive decision-making. Monitor vessel movements in real time, with automatic hourly updates on delays or schedule adherence.
This helps brokers and charterers improve route planning, scheduling, and cargo logistics.
Updates to the SEDNA Integration
You can now initiate a claim straight from an email in Sedna using the Voyager Portal integration. By tagging relevant job identifiers, Voyager links the email and its documents to the right claim.
Job tags are automatically created and updated as claims are added or renamed in Voyager, providing seamless navigation between Sedna and Voyager. Critical voyage information, documents, and communications are kept in sync and easily accessible from both sides.
Demand Allocation New UX
The Demand Allocation module has been completely redesigned for a more powerful and flexible cargo planning experience. Watch the video walkthrough:
- New cards interface: Cleaner, collapsible cards let you see more data on one screen without losing context. Cargo demands and trade lanes can now be viewed together, making matching easier and faster.
- Advanced filters: Multi-selection and combined conditions allow you to filter by ports, business units, or cargo groups, enabling precise scenario planning.
- Direct integration: Cargo demands and trade lanes now link directly with vessel positions. Users can request updated vessel positions from brokers straight within the module, without leaving the screen.
Prorated Demurrage
Demurrage rates can now be calculated by multiplying the total charge by your proportion of cargo volume. Automatically include the calculation factor and a comment on statements for full transparency, and minimize negotiation times with clear, auditable logic for shared demurrage liability.
Non Demurrage Claims (Beta)
Currently in Beta, Voyager will soon support a broader range of claim types beyond demurrage, including deviation and detention claims. This enhancement will consolidate the Claims Management Module as the single source-of-truth of all claim related costs, in a streamlined view.
Adding Flexibility to Demurrage Calculations
- Laytime Rounding Options for Barge Calculations: The Claims Manager now includes an option to round Used Laytime hours for each port call. This update helps charterers align more closely with barge contract clauses that require simplified or whole-hour laytime representation, ensuring that documentation accurately reflects the contract terms.
- New Original Bill of Lading Field: A new field has been added to capture the Original Bill of Lading (OBL) number for each cargo. This enhancement ensures precision when multiple cargoes are processed at the same port by linking specific events on the Statement of Facts (SoF) to the relevant cargo and OBL number.
- Include Tags or Comments in Demurrage Statements: The Claims Manager now includes an option to include event tags or notes from laytime ranges (additions and deductions) directly in the Demurrage Statement. When this setting is enabled, all tags associated with port call events will be shown alongside the corresponding events in the generated PDF, providing richer context and traceability for each laytime calculation.
- Automated Timebar Tracking: Automatically track critical claim submission deadlines, ensuring you never miss a timebar expiry that could result in lost recoveries and legal complications. By setting up automated timebar alerts, you gain real-time visibility into key expiry dates, allowing you to act before it’s too late.
These updates are all about reducing friction where it matters most—between contracts, documents, and operations. We’ll continue building with our customers to simplify workflows, increase visibility, and strengthen cost control across every voyage.
It’s part of our commitment to giving charterers the tools they need to stay ahead in an increasingly complex maritime environment.
